Kodiaks Out for 06

The Kirkland Kodiaks organization has decided not to field a team for the 2006 Pacific International League season.  “Business obligations and family considerations” were sited by Arnie Anderson, Kirkland owner and GM as the priorities that “would not allow for proper attention to the players and organization”.  “We are hoping to find new sponsorship and leadership for the team in 2007” stated Anderson.  “I would not rule out my return or involvement at some level at some point in the future, but at this point I have to pay attention to other issues.  My PIL experience has been a great one and it has been very enjoyable  to participate in  the progress of these young men.”

Although not too late for new management to step in for 2006, league president Steve Konek Sr. stated, “The scheduling process is 98% complete.  We could add the team to the schedule but of course the closer we get to our season, the more difficult this becomes.”

Parties who might be interested in maintaining the strong East Side baseball tradition by way of the Pacific International League should contact the Arnie or the league through their web site.
