(June 5, 2006)-
Justin Marshall had no problem with the jersey switch from
Central Washington University Wildcat to Skagit Valley Eagle
this past Saturday night. Marshall was practically a one-man
show, going 3-4 with two singles and a double resulting in three
RBIs for the night. Top that performance off with a stolen base
to help the Eagles pummel the Tacoma Cardinals 9-2.
Eagle’s Coach, Dan Keller explained that
Marshall has a new role to adjust to this summer. He said that
Marshall was “ hitting in the 3 and 5 spot (at CWU) and now I
have him at the lead off spot. He’s accepting a different role,
hitting for contact, as well as for power and stealing some
bases.”
Keller describes Marshall as being very
coachable, taking in what is said to him and trying to make it
work. When asked what the baseball Gods have in store for
Justin Marshall, Keller said, “He keeps getting better year
after year. He has a pro body and with his work ethic he has
limitless potential.”
After this summer with the Skagit
Eagles, Marshall will return as a Central Washington University
Wildcat for his senior year. After that, Keller predicts he
will be successful in whatever he chooses to do.
