Ricky Reavis is responsible for 5 of the 11 runs that
contributed to the Skagit Eagle’s win over the Kitsap Blue
Jackets on Tuesday June 13th. Reavis’ bat was hot,
going 5-5 including 3 singles, a 2-run homerun, and a double;
contributing to 5 runs batted in.
Eagle’s General Manager, Dan Keller raved,
“Ricky is a hard working, blue collar athlete. Not real flashy
but he gets the job done. Ricky is one of the most
fundamentally sound players that I have ever coached.”
As to what is to be expected from Reavis
this summer with the Eagles, Keller said, “I am going to work
Ricky into the line-up at 2nd base this summer, but he may also
be called upon to play 3rd, or LF. One of the great things
about Ricky is his versatility. He can play any spot in the
infield (except catcher/pitcher), and can run down balls great
in the OF.”
Keller worked with Reavis at Skagit Valley
CC this past year where he was unanimously voted MVP of the
NWAACC North. His Skagit Valley College Batting Average climbed
to.471 by the end of the spring season, contributing to his
commitment to play baseball next year for the University of
Washington Huskies.
