PIL Player of the Week:  Joel Johnson

(July 26, 2006) Joel Johnson’s July 15th offensive display against the Everett Merchants fixed a spotlight right on his #27 Jersey. Johnson’s single and 7th homerun of the season produced 4 of the 6 Javelina runs to secure the 6-0 win over Everett. So far this season, Johnson has 20 singles, 3 doubles, 15 RBIs and has walked 12 times.  He is hitting .326 and has an impressive .402 on base percentage. Johnson plays 1st base and outfield for the Javs and has a .964 fielding percentage.  Johnson was named a 2005 NWAACC Western Division 1st Team All-Star. He transferred as a sophomore to North Carolina State - Greensboro located in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is originally from Camas, Washington.
