The Pacific International League in their
fall Board of Directors Meeting voted approval of three new
franchise applications. The Portland/Seaside Wildcats,
NorthWest Titans, and the Pacific Javelinas (all Portland area
teams) will be joining the league for the 2006 season. The
teams competed last season as members of the Portland City
League. “We have seen these teams in tournament play, we know
they are competitive, believe they will only get better with the
step up in competition, and as with other PIL teams of late,
believe they will be representative on the national stage as
members of our representative to the National Baseball Congress
World Series” said PIL President Steve Konek.
The Kirkland Kodiaks are looking for new
management/sponsorship for the upcoming season. Demands of time
for current ownership are dictating change. “The structure and
organization are in place, this is a unique opportunity for
someone who has an interest in highly competitive ball to enjoy
working with college level and former professional players” said
Steve Potter, PIL Secretary.
The Mt. Vernon Cardinals have taken on a
new field & general manager, Dan Keller. Dan is a strength &
conditioning coach at Mt. Vernon Community College, a former PIL
player and coach with Everett, Kirkland.
