MORGAN TRADED TO MILWAUKEE
March 27, 2011 MILWAUKEE, WI: Former Pacific International League outfielder Nyjer Morgan was traded today from the Washington Nationals to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Cutter Dykstra and cash considerations. Morgan played with both the Seattle Studs and the Kelowna Falcons in 2002.
"I'm excited. Very excited," Morgan said about the trade. "This seems like a fun ballclub here, and basically this is my first time being on a winning ballclub. I'm more excited about that than anything. I'm going to try to fit in, basically. Whatever my role is, I don't care about that."

Morgan hit .253 last year for Washington and stole 34 bases. In three big league seasons with Pittsburgh and two with Washington, Morgan has a career .283 average, 77 RBIs and a .344 on-base percentage. He also has 92 stolen bases. He made his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates against the Milwaukee Brewers on September 1, 2007.
Nyjer was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 33rd round of the 2002 MLB Draft out of Walla Walla Community College
Founded in the fall of 1992, the PIL is considered by many to be the premier Summer Collegiate Baseball league in the Northwest. Most PIL players are NCAA eligible and are unpaid in order to maintain their eligibility. The PIL is different from many other summer collegiate baseball leagues in that the league also allows former professionals and college graduates to participate.
