About the PIL
Established in
1992, the Pacific International League (PIL) is the Northwest’s
premier competitive wood bat league. A developing ground for
college players, a second chance or opportunity to rehabilitate for
professionals, and a well disciplined/highly organized atmosphere
for anyone who has not given up the dream. A testing ground, the
league offers the highest level of amateur competition available in
Northwest baseball. If your talent and skill levels can earn you a
spot, age or status is not a barrier.
Teams of the PIL offer
players stiff competition, quality coaching, and great weather. Playing in high
caliber ball parks (college & professional), the experience offers opportunity
to travel the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The strength of schedule attracts
top level players who are recruited throughout the winter as member teams
develop their own rosters.
The PIL affiliation with
the National Baseball Congress (NBC) confirms its’ founding philosophy and
continued goals to: “Show case each player through baseball, to help develop
quality individuals, and to give back to the member communities the support they
have shown us”. NCAA guidelines for college eligibility are observed
throughout.
A portion of league fees
each year is dedicated to help fund the League Champion’s berth to the NBC World
Series Tournament in Wichita, Kansas. This ultimate competition is the
opportunity to display their talents in front of multiple professional scouts;
against the stiffest of amateur competition in an electric atmosphere. PIL
teams have twice won the national championship and consistently finish in the
top ten nation wide.
