11/26/09:

 2010 Orphanage Benefit Game Agreed Upon

The Everett Merchants have agreed to provide the venue for the 2010 benefit baseball game hosted by local veterans groups. (Chapter XVI, Society of the 173d Airborne; Chapter 16, Association of the US Special Forces; and Veterans of the 81st Special Forces, RSVN.)  Funds raised in the past have purchased computers, bicycles, made repairs, and provided flood relief to an orphanage, leper colony, and students in the Montagnard community of Vietnam.

The game is free to fans with donations accepted at the gate.  Game date and opponent will be set during PIL scheduling.

10/06/09:

Studs go 2 & 2 in Grand Forks

 The Seattle Studs completed the 2009 season with a 2 win/2 loss showing at the Grand Forks (British Columbia) International Baseball Tournament held September 2 – 7th.  The Studs have championed the tournament six times in past seasons.  For details of the tournament see:

PIL Teams Show Well at Kamloops Tournament

The Everett Merchants and Seattle Studs finish 2nd & 3rd at the 2009 Kamloops International Baseball Tournament.  With teams from Alaska, British Columbia, Oregon, and Washington competing the PIL again demonstrated their ability to compete with the best talent in the Northwest.
