Studs Win 114th Midnight Sun Game
- Updated: June 22, 2019
Baseball and the Midnight Sun; Alaskans know this one of the all time great combinations.
Friday night, the Alaska Goldpanners continued the storied tradition, taking on the Seattle Studs in the 114th Annual Midnight Sun Baseball Game.
History has been on the Panners side for the game, as their record stands at 46-14, since they started hosting the event. However, the Panners couldn’t strike gold two years in a row, falling to Seattle 5-4 in 11 innings Friday thanks to an unearned run in front of a crowd of over 3,500 people.
Anthony Brady picked up the win, striking out three hits and allowing no hits going 2.0 innings. Kyle Strash and Gavin Grant each had a pair of hits for the Studs.
The Studs are now 1-1 in the Midnight Sun Game having lost 4-7 back in 2015
